Dishonesty[edit]
Please inform me how your recent edit summary at http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:Islamophobia&action=history is ascertainably different from lying, since I didn't "blank" the page in any ascertainably valid sense of the word "to blank" (in fact, I've added two images to the category, which is more than you have). AnonMoos 22:32, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- Category protected a couple of days (again). Please refrain from further actions here. Have a nice day, Finn Rindahl 00:39, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
You removed (i.e. blanked) a valid category. // Liftarn
- Liftarn, you've been around Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons long enough to have become highly aware of the fact that "blanking" refers to semi-randomly removing a significant quantity of content (or all of the content) from a page so as to significantly impair the usefulness of the page -- it most definitely does NOT ordinarily refer to an informed editorial dispute about relevant categorization, so that your misuse of the term "blanking" is highly disingenuous at best, and downright dishonest at worst. Furthermore, since you're also highly aware of the fact that a significant majority of those who considered the matter as part of the extensive discussions held at Image_talk:Gathering of eagles.jpg came down against your position, therefore your monotonous (and really rather boring by this point) insistence on continuing to conduct an edit war would seem to spring from a certain amount of intentional deliberate trouble-making motivation on your part... AnonMoos 14:36, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, it was a partial blanking. You are entitled to your opinion, but please don't disropt Commons for it. As it says on the very page you're refering to "The word "racism" is indeed very widely used and has a broader meaning than you may think". Hate and discrimination based on ethnoreligious background is also a form of racism, antisemitism is an obvious example. // Liftarn
Copyright violation[edit]
Pay attention to copyright | Image:Sauerbraten_screenshot_878348.jpg has been marked as a copyright violation. The Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content, that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You can ask questions about Commons policies in Commons:Help desk.
The file you added will soon be deleted. If you believe this image is not a copyright violation, please explain why on the image description page.

Only the game engine of Sauerbraten is licensed under the free ZLIB license, not the game data showed in the picture. See the license part at the bottom of http://sauerbraten.org/README.html for details (If you want to produce new content with the sauerbraten engine, you have to be aware that the source code may be Open Source, but the game and the media it consist of have their individual licenses and copyrights. and You CANNOT simply redistribute the entire sauerbraten package with your modified files, as the majority of game media is not yours to use freely (it is made by many authors with a variety of licences and copyright restrictions).).--Innenrevision 17:28, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Image Tagging Image:Panzer(Afrika).jpg[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Panzer(Afrika).jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multilicense GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you.
Thank you. Thank you.

Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which information may be missing. Please note that if you won't provide a valid license in 7 days your image will be deleted and if you upload a lot of images without licenses you may be blocked from editing wikimedia-commons. Thank you.

Re St Mark image[edit]
I have just modified your information on this one. It said that Mark was the "supposed" writer of a gospel. I changed it to "presumed", since the word "supposed" indicates an element of dishonesty, where as "presumed" retains an element of doubt. I deleted the comment about "Mark was a Palestinian, just like Jesus." I don't know exactly what this is supposed to mean, but I have read a fair number of snide remarks about Western Christians depicting Jesus in their own likeness.
Jesus was a Jew. John Mark, if his name is an indication, was half Jewish and half Roman. So what does a Jew look like? All the Jewish males in my family look laughably like this picture, painted centuries ago. That incredibly thick brown hair with curls that look as if they have been put in by a crimping machine, the beard, the densely white skin, the large frame, the large hooked nose. The only differnce is that this man has brown eyes. Most of my family have those pale aqua eyes that a great many Jews have. The people that we now think of as Palestinian are mostly Arabic in origin. Jesus was not, ethnically, one of them.
Since the 3rd century, most artists depicted Jesus looking just like the people around them, for obvious reasons that anyone can work out. It is hardly surprising that there are more famous Western portrayals of Jesus than there are African, Indian or Japanese ones. It is because of the status of western art. But I can assure you, that all nationalities give Jesus' features their own look.
Since the 3rd century there have been other artists (usually the great ones) who were very aware of ethnic difference in features and consciously depicted Jesus as a Jew. The earliest that I know of is in a Roman catacomb. The artist who painted this picture has painted Mark as a Jew.

Image Tagging Image:45mkii.jpg[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:45mkii.jpg.
Thank you.
