This media may be deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:HANOI.wav. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Shipping company flags[edit]

I saw that you uploaded a few files related to shipping companies, I saw that a handful of users were now collecting flags of (historical) shipping companies, do you by any chance know if these also appear on postcards? --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 11:36, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

no idea. Nowakki (talk) 12:15, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Bot[edit]

Hi, Since you upload a large number of files in fast succession, it is required that you create a bot account and a request a bot flag. Please see COM:Bots for the procedure. Thanks, Yann (talk) 10:15, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Rollbacks[edit]

Hi, Nowakki, if you didn't notice, I had to perform a series of rollbacks for SanbornMapBot (talk · contributions · Statistics · Recent activity · block log · User rights log · uploads · Global account information) as it kept adding rename templates for files that I've already moved. By any chance, could you take a look into it? TIA, --SHB2000 (talk) 06:52, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@SHB2000: I will add redirect detection to the script. SanbornMapBot (talk) 07:08, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Cool :-). And thanks for getting to it swiftly! --SHB2000 (talk) 07:18, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@SHB2000: I have uploaded several thousand files under a different naming scheme in the past few days in error.
...Map from Town, 1910, Volume 1
will become
...Map from Town, Volume 1, 1910
to comply with the majority.
I understand that there is no need to leave a redirect then?! How do i tag the files as such? Nowakki (talk) 11:41, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Just tag them with {{Speedy}}. --SHB2000 (talk) 11:52, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@SHB2000: I have to wait till the move is approved and then go over all the files a second time? SanbornMapBot (talk) 12:25, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Have you considered requesting FM? I think I moved about 100 of them but I don't think even 20 file movers will be able to do the whole 9000. SHB2000 (talk) 13:21, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
i have. i think at this point i have been in contact with 5 different bureaucrats (who don't talk to each other) over this Sanborn upload thing.
can you not use a script to approve the moves? SanbornMapBot (talk) 13:24, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Unfortunately I don't know which script I can use. I'm not an expert in writing them. --SHB2000 (talk) 03:33, 4 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Encoding issues[edit]

Hi, looks like your bot changes bullet points and the æ in Fæ to question mark characters as well as breaking file links by changing .tif to .tiff e.g. in Special:Diff/837946934 Looks like there's about 20k as of writing this that need to be fixed.

@Nintendofan885: I see what you mean. I will take care of it. SanbornMapBot (talk) 13:32, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Nintendofan885 all files have been fixed. SanbornMapBot (talk) 19:57, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
